Sympho Black Metal

Sympho Black Metal - is a variation of the Black Metal music where one of the most important roles is played by symphonic music. For this sub genre keyboard and orchestra arrangements are often used and they make the music very melodious and pleasant to listen to. In compositions created by this genre we can rarely hear heavy drums and guitars are less brutal, which makes the music slower in pace. A vocal in this genre consists mostly out of screaming and sometimes with addition of growling, but often entire composition is softened with a female or a chorus singing. Themes of the songs and image of the musicians do not differ much from regular Black Metal performers. Lyrics are evolved around dark mystical and mythological things

In the first part of the 90s, while the original musical genre Black Metal was growing and evolving, many musicians started perfecting the style, making it more diverse. The founders of the genre are considered to be Norwegian band, called Emperor. They were first who incorporated symphonic music in to the genre. After them the symphonic idea was grasped by other bands such as Cradle Of Filth and Dimmu Borgir. They really made a break in the experiment of combining Black Metal and symphonic arrangements. And a success of the collaboration made Sympho Black Metal more popular. In order to create a better more professional music, members of the Dimmu Borgir band even invited Opera and Philharmonic Orchestras.

With time Sympho Black Metal became the most popular genre from all of the Black Metal trends. And most of the bands that are playing this genre are commercial. This specific creates a lot of negative feedback from the followers of the original Black Metal. They call them sellouts and traitors of the movement. Most influential bands of this genre are Anorexia Nervosa, Limbonic Art, Alghazanth, Graveworm, Tvangeste, Darkside, Dorn, Diabolical Masquerade, Dryados, Siebenburgen, Catamenia.
